Supervision

I offer supervision to psychologists and mental health practitioners in general, online, in English or Hebrew. My approach mirrors my clinical work: relational and narrative, attentive to what is happening between therapist and patient, and to what the work stirs in the therapist. Clinicians treating trauma, captivity survivors and their families will find soothing experience here, to help them deal with the toll this work takes, sometimes in the form of vicarious traumatization, empathic fatigue and work burnout.

I also work with experienced supervisors on their supervision. At the Green Institute for Advanced Psychology in Tel Aviv I served as chief psychologist and head of supervision for the clinical residency, where supervision of supervisors was my responsibility, and it remains a field I care about deeply. Teaching

I have taught for decades where psychology meets other worlds: psychology and education, psychology and criminology, developmental psychology, and psychology in the training of clergy for spiritual care. My academic homes have included the Department of Criminology at Bar-Ilan University, Levinsky College of Education and its allied specializations in music therapy and animal-assisted therapy, and the Jewish Theological Seminary (JTS), where I was a visiting professor in the program preparing rabbis and caregivers for pastoral work.

Along the way I have supervised graduate research seminars and theses in these fields, a range that reflects a belief I hold about the field itself, that psychology does its best work at its borders. If you need help with a lecture or an academic course in one of these fields, contact me.
